About Jan Bowen. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio with my loving husband Stephen and a large main coon cat, Keeker. I am blessed with a wonderful marriage, two amazing sons, two sisters and a circle of lifelong friends. I began my painting education in 1976, in oils, using the Priscilla Hauser technique. I refined my technique over the next ten years. In the late 1980's, I transitioned to acrylics. Acrylic paints had really evolved and I became hooked. My line of patterns, utilize acrylic paints ability to adapt to a variety of surfaces from slate to fabric and any surface in between.
